Project Summary

7CGI modeled a six-axis collaborative robot arm in 3ds Max and rendered it in V-Ray as white background catalog images and hero shots. The renders explain the product’s features clearly and give it a premium look for buyers and investors.

The brief

The Client’s Goal

The client wanted industrial product renders that could do two jobs:

Explain product features clearly

Base, joints, arm links, and tool shown so buyers understand the product at a glance.

Attract buyers or investors

A premium, finished look that makes the product credible at first glance.

The problem

The Problem the Visuals Solved

Every material, color, and light choice needed approval

In 3D, each option is a setting and a new render, so finishes and lighting can be reviewed side by side before the final images.

The approach

How We Built the Renders

  1. Model the arm in 3ds Max

Base, six joints with their light blue caps, aluminum arm links, and the orange end-of-arm tool, built as one detailed model.

  2. Set up materials in V-Ray

Brushed aluminum links, matte gray joint housings, light blue caps, and an orange tool housing, tuned for studio light.

  3. Prepare finishes and light for approval

Materials, colors, and lighting set up for the client to review and approve before the final renders.

  4. Render the hero and catalog views

Eye-level hero shots and high-angle white background views of the full reach.

The result

Final Takeaway

One detailed model delivered hero shots and catalog renders in 26 hours of production, ready for new variants later.

Variants stay consistent

CGI makes it easier to create variants and keep every image consistent.

Quality you can see

Strong product visuals shape perceived quality before a customer ever touches the product.

Questions

Questions About This Project

Can 3D renders show a robot arm’s features clearly?

Yes. The hero and catalog angles show the base, joints, arm links, and end-of-arm tool under clean studio light on a white background.

How long did this project take?

26 hours of production time for the model, materials, hero shots, and catalog renders.

Can the arm be rendered in other colors or with other tools?

Yes. New colors and finishes can be rendered from the same model, and other tools can be added as separate models.

What software was used?

3ds Max for modeling and V-Ray for materials, lighting, and rendering. See how 3D renders compare with product photography.

How much does product rendering cost?

Renders at 7CGI start at $150 per image, and variations of an existing render cost less. See our product rendering services for details.
