Elevating Staircase Design to Luxury
Headquartered in Italy, Marretti International designs and manufactures custom architectural staircases for premier international residences and commercial properties. While 7CGI had previously visualized single installations for specific customer orders, this initiative had a broader strategic purpose: elevating the Marretti brand into the highest echelon of the luxury market.
Our objective was staging their bespoke floating and spiral staircases within immersive architectural environments that immediately convey prestige, craftsmanship, and structural innovation.
Preliminary Spatial Directions
To determine the ideal environment, our team modeled multiple exploratory interior contexts—from double-height commercial lobbies to penthouse living rooms overlooking twilight skylines. We consulted with our network of 3D artists on LinkedIn to evaluate lighting mood, scale, and composition.
These preliminary renderings allowed Marretti to test contrasting spatial philosophies before locking in a cohesive art direction.
Warm Wood Palette & Railing Compliance
Marretti gravitated toward an upscale, wood-rich interior aesthetic, pairing rich timber wall paneling with herringbone oak parquet flooring to impart organic warmth to the floating staircase.
Detailed design feedback also required adapting the staircase handrail. To satisfy architectural safety codes and regional compliance regulations, we integrated a precision-milled wooden handrail onto the glass balustrade, ensuring the visualization remained both aspirational and technically viable.
Integrated Under-Step LED Illumination
Months after the initial delivery, Marretti contacted 7CGI with an evolutionary product enhancement: integrating warm LED strip lighting recessed beneath each floating tread. Because our 3D architectural scene was already built to exact parametric scale, implementing the photometric lighting update was fast and seamless.
